Betting on the strength of Brazilian cooperatives, De Heus supports for the second consecutive year the Quem é Quem Award: Largest and Best Brazilian Poultry and Swine Cooperatives. The event consecrates the important work done by cooperativism, which generates wealth and income for thousands of producers in the country. Specializing in animal nutrition, De Heus has expanded its participation in the Brazilian market. For Rinus Donkers, president of the company in Brazil, cooperatives are the bet to make De Heus brand grow Brazilian territory.
De Heus’s ideals are aligned with those of cooperativism, in terms of bringing technology, income and well-being to rural producers, enabling them to produce with food security and efficiency, preserving the environment and always innovating. With support to Quem é Quem, DeHeus recognizes the work done by cooperatives in favor of Brazilian agribusiness, especially their role in productivity leaps in activities such as pig and poultry farming.
Of Dutch origin, the company has been in the Brazilian market for seven years, with expressive growth year by year. The advance is based on investments in the expansion of its structure in the country, as well as in research and development areas, with nutritional solutions for pigs, poultry, cattle, aqua and pets.
We started here with two factories, it was a big challenge, because the level here is high. We now have five factories and each of them successfully, growing from 50% to 55% annually, ”says Donkers.
He points out that the company’s last factory was built in Toledo and that being close to the poultry and pork cooperatives during the Quem é Quem Award is important. “We want to be with these cooperatives, meet people, be part of this exhibition. And it is an honor to be part of an event that will congratulate some cooperatives that do a very good job”, he adds.
