State that is the third largest producer in Brazil foments new technologies, update and training in animal welfare in the eggs production

Egg production in Paraná grows to 292 million dozens

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) released statistics on egg production in Brazil this week with promising results for the sector that closed the year 2017 with a growth of 6.7% in chicken egg production, reaching 3.30 billion dozens. Of this amount, Paraná is once again ranked as the third largest national egg producer with 292.3 million dozen, corresponding to 8.8% of all national productivity. In this year of 2018, the State receives AveSui, the main fair of poultry, swine, eggs and fish, which shows the productive potential of the sectors that are most developed in the country. The fair will take place from August 01 to 03 at the Lar Events Center in Medianeira.

São Paulo State continues to lead the production of chicken eggs with 29.7% of national production, followed by Minas Gerais (9.6%) and Paraná (8.8%). Paraná state increased its production in 2017 by 4.1 million dozen, jumping from 288.2 million dozen in 2016 to 292.3 million in 2017. The number of layers housed in the fourth quarter of last year reached 14.7 million.

Wellness Update and Training

During AveSui, companies specialized in equipment for egg production will be exposing the main technological innovations for this sector. In addition, during the AveSui will be held the XVII Technical Seminar on Poultry, Eggs, Swine and Fish that will highlight, on August 03, the Update and Training Welfare in Egg Production Panel.

Under the coordination of Dr. Paulo Giovani de Abreu, researcher at Embrapa Swine and Poultry, the panel will discuss the technical advances and practices of laying poultry welfare, with the objective of updating the technicians of the sector on the subject in the production chain. Researchers, teachers, professionals, producers and technicians of the sector will be present to discuss relevant issues in egg production in the country.

Technical Programming

A traditional reference in disseminating knowledge for the sector, AveSui organizes between 01.02 and 03 the XVII Technical-Scientific Seminar of Poultry, Swine and Fish built through research with great academic names of the sector and relate to the current challenges of the productive chain. On the first day, August 1, the technical – scientific meeting opens space for the Meat Processing Panel and the Intestinal Health Panel. The seminar also adds the III Congress of Precision Livestock Farming, which also happens on the 01.

On the second day of the XVII Technical and Scientific Seminar of Poultry, Swine and Fish, August 2, the production of fish in Brazil is highlighted with the main updates of this sector that grows exponentially and will be discussed in the Fisheries Panel. On this same day, the Food Conversion Panel will present alternatives to improve production outcomes and achieve better nutrition throughputs. To follow up and discuss biosecurity challenges, the seminar will also feature the Salmonella Panel.

On August 03, the Panel Update and Training in Welfare in Egg Production presents trends and challenges to adapt production to meet an increasingly demanding market.
