Food Conversion: Maintaining high production rates is the sector’s challenge in 2018

The year has barely begun and news that the poultry and swine diet may run out of essential vitamins in the early months of 2018 already worries the industry. Dribbling nutritional impasses and maintaining high production rates will be the biggest challenge of animal production. To discuss alternatives to boost nutrition, the XVII Techinical Scientific Seminar on Poultry and Swine will open an exclusive Panel on Food Conversion with the most recognized experts on August 01, 02 and 03, during Avesui 2018, held in Medianeira, Paraná.

Nutrition represents about 70% of the investment in production, so it is very important that the producer is always attentive, seeking information to fit the reduction of these costs, without losing the levels of animal weight gain and good feed conversion, so that your business gets profitability.

Feed conversion is a measure of animal productivity that is defined by the total feed intake, divided by its average weight. The two direct indexes that have the greatest influence on the cost of production are undoubtedly the average weight and feed conversion. Some factors are determinant to obtain better results, among them are: temperature, ventilation, feed quality, water quality, good production practices, among others that will be part of the presentations during the seminar.

Traditional reference in spreading the knowledge for the sector, AveSui organizes another two panels coordinated by specialists with subjects that involve Gut Health and Precision Livestock Congress. In addition to the seminar, researchers and students will be able to send their scientific papers for Oswaldo Gessulli Institute awards.
