Lar acquires poultry slaughter and food factory of Copagril

Lar Cooperativa and Copagril released, on Tuesday night (24), a joint note signing a strategic alliance for intercooperation. According to the document, Lar will acquire the Poultry Slaughtering Industrial Unit and the Ration Industrial Unit, belonging to Copagril and acquired in the municipality of Marechal Cândido Rondon and Entre Rios do Oeste, respectively.

The intercooperation must be explained on January 2, 2021 and the transition process as soon as approval by Organs responsible bodies takes place, the two cooperatives said in a note.

With the agreement, Lar is committed to maintaining poultry activity by Copagril associates.

The two cooperatives have pledged to act jointly in the promotion and origination of birds in the areas of border action or even in demands for growth of both parties.

The document also highlights the logistical synergy, through the better use of the distances for the distribution of rations and for the slaughter of birds in the refrigeration units; adding value to agricultural production in the two cooperatives, by transforming the production of Lar and Copagril into chicken meat.

The agreement should not change  the membership of the cooperatives and, in relation to Copagril, it should maintain an activity of origination of grains and sale of inputs.
