AveSui Eurotier 2019 discusses innovations in meat processing

Meat processing is a sensitive issue in the global animal protein industry and will be the focus of a panel with researchers, authorities, and practitioners from the area during AveSui Eutorier South America 2019.

As a final link between the production chain and the end consumer, processors are required to ensure higher levels of safety and production, as well as constant compliance with regulations and laws for the activity.

“The panel aims to discuss relevant aspects of meat processing and, for that, will address trends and news in the industry, taking advantage of interaction with researchers and inspectors, as well as promote integration between the scientific community and processors,” introduces Dr. Carmen Josefina Contreras, Panel Coordinator.

To meet the demands of the meat chain, the debate will be attended by Dr. Heitor Dauguer, from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply; Dr. Marcia Mayumi, from the Technological Food Institute (ITAL); and Dr. Angela Dulce Altemio, from the Federal University of Dourados in Mato Grosso do Sul.

They will address, respectively, the topics: “Formation of carcinogenic compounds through interactions between preservatives in meat products”, “Mortadella Shelf Stable”, and “Alternatives in the processing of poultry and fish meat”. 

“The relevance of a meeting with highly qualified specialists from different industry links and processing activity sectors is in systematizing safe and updated information, discussing technological innovations, and the main links of the meat chains,” says Carmen.

Among the technical-scientific content, AveSui Eurotier will also have panels on “Digital Farming – Precision Animal Science Congress” and the “Bird and Swine Insemination Workshop”.

The event takes place in Medianeira, 30 minutes from Foz do Iguaçu, between July 23 and 25, and brings together the expertise of the main segment trade show in Brazil – AveSui – and the largest meeting of the planet in innovation for the sector – EuroTier, which is organized every two years by DLG (German Agricultural Society) in Hanover, Germany.
