The Brazilian poultry and swine cooperatives will start receiving the questionnaires of the eleven categories of the Whos´ Who Award, edition 2021 next week.

This year, the coordination of the works, evaluations and ranking of the participating cooperatives will be in charge of Esalq-USP by through professor Iran José Oliveira da Silva, also coordinator of Nupea / Esalq-USP. One of the main novelties will be the insertion of some questions related to measures and actions promoted by the cooperatives in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic. The objective is to have an overview of how the pandemic impacted different areas of operation of the cooperatives.

What we are experiencing has completely transformed the daily lives of people and companies worldwide, understanding a little about how cooperatives have overcome this challenge and offered guidance and protection throughout their network of employees and members, is very important ”, comments Oliveira da Silva, from Esalq-USP.

Still as a novelty in 2021, the actions of the cooperatives in the implementation of animal welfare programs in the organization will be considered, an agenda that will be constant in the discussions of modern agriculture.

Specialists will be invited to give opinions and notes within categories that involve the presentation of cases, such as Retail and Innovation. The incorporation of market professionals will enable a more accurate assessment of the results and originality of the projects presented in these categories, as well as the proposed objectives and achieved results.

This will be the fifth edition of the Who’s Who Award: Biggest and Best Brazilian Poultry and Swine Cooperatives. The announcement of the winners and the delivery of the trophies takes place on April 13, 2021, at the official opening of AveSui América Latina, in Medianeira (PR). AveSui takes place between April 13th and 15th. Organized by the magazines Avicultura Industrial e Suinocultura Industrial, by Gessulli Agribusiness, the award is supported by the company De Heus and has the Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives (OCB) as a patronal entity.

Decisive role in agro advancing

The objective of the award is to value the relevant role played by cooperatives for the development of agribusiness in the country, as well as for social improvement and preservation of the environment, highlighting actions and central actors in this process, such as the members and technicians that make up their structure. production.

Brazilian agricultural cooperatives is a model admired worldwide. Supporting economic and social development, especially of small rural properties, cooperatives in the countryside has great relevance for the country’s economy. It is exactly this important and grand role that Gessulli Agribusiness wants to emphasize and value with the achievement of the Who’s Who  Award.

In this edition, the award will recognize the work of cooperatives in 11 categories: Economic-Financial Performance, Environmental Responsibility, Social Responsibility, Sustainable Development, Best Cooperative (poultry and swine), Best Technician / Technical Assistance, Innovation, Operational Management, Cooperative Women , Retail and Biomass & Bioenergy.
